Our Affiliates, or project partners, are individuals or companies with whom we are co-developing IPP projects. These affiliates are located in the United States, Brazil and in Central America and are experienced in the power sector and are entities with whom we have transacted previously on electric power sector infrastructure projects who provide expertise in renewable energy, project management, financing, international business practices, cross-border transactions as well as financial analysis. These professionals help leverage Sage Stone skill sets by providing complementary skills, coupled with international business experience and add additional foreign language fluency.
Richard Kleiman is a senior energy development consultant with 25+ years experience. He specializes in the structuring, permitting, valuation, and development of energy projects with a focus on wind and solar. Recent projects include: NEPA EIS preparation for the Cape Wind project in Nantucket Sound, numerous Massachusetts wind and solar projects ranging from 2-10MW, and licensing of new submarine cables across Long Island Sound for LIPA/KeySpan and Northeast Utilities. He provides advice to the Massachussetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs and DPU on net metering for renwable energy projects.
Octavio has 30+ years of experience in power generation engineering, planning, development, and construction. Expertise in IPP thermal, hydroelectric and geothermal energy projects throughout the Americas.
Octavio is currently leading hydroelectric project development in Latin America from our office in Guatemala. He has worked at Hatch Energy, J.A. Jones/Black & Veatch, Atkinson-Commonwealth, Morrison K. Knudsen Environmental, ICA and with INDE Guatemala. Octavio holds a B.Sc. (Civil Engineering), Diploma in Geothermal Reservoir Engineering from UNAM, and Diploma in Geothermal Engineering from the Kyushu University in Japan.
Ian Andrew Mallory is President of Pickworth Investments LP, a venture investment and advisory firm based in Calgary, Canada. A lawyer by profession, he has been an executive at three major Canadian companies in the power and natural gas sectors. Prior to his experience in the energy sector, Mr. Mallory was counsel to the treasury of the World Bank in Washington, D.C. Mr. Mallory is a graduate of Harvard University, the University of Toronto, and Cambridge University, and was called to the bar of Ontario, Canada in 1986.
Dave Shutte has 25+ years of financial, business development and contracting experience in the energy industry in the IPP sector and is a JV partner of Sage Stone on several M&A assignments. He has held CFO and BD positions for several publicly traded and privately held IPP firms and has developed and closed some $2 billion in greenfield power projects including non-recourse senior debt financings. Dave has worked at PGE, MidWest power and currently in alternative fund management. Dave holds a BA (accounting) UM, MBA (Finance), JD from Detroit College of Law at UM.
